What does circumlocution mean?

Circumlocution means: the use of many words to say something that could be said, more clearly and directly, by using fewer words.

What does circumlocution have to do with my blog? First, Curly and circumlocution both begin with the letter C, so it rolls off the tongue quite nicely. More importantly, when writing, I think of my wife. When she tells a story, it can go on and on. She begins, and you think you know where she might be going, but she takes a turn, a left, a right, a complete 180. You might hear her say, "let me back up for a second." It's usually quite long, and I find myself wondering, is there a point or a moral anywhere in our near future? It drives me crazy, but she can tell a great story. I am hoping, that same style, makes for a great blog.
