The Gap of Dunloe

Places we have been.

Day and I started traveling early in our relationship, even before we left college. We have been incredibly fortunate over these past eighteen years, and have been to many places. Our first trip together, would rival the most seasoned of travelers:

The Galapagos Islands
This trip was a week aboard the Galapagos Aggressor live aboard dive boat. Diving in the Galapagos, with hundreds of hammerhead sharks, was a once in a lifetime experience.

Ireland, Scotland and England
This trip was just months after the Galapagos, after leaving college. It was a birthday gift for my mother. My sister, her husband, Mom, myself and Day, who joined us for one week, of this three week vacation.

Grenada
Grenada is quite possibly, my favorite Caribbean island. The diving was great, boasting the largest wreck in the Caribbean, beaches were beautiful, the center of the island was a rain forest, and it is the spice capital of all the islands.

Caribbean diving
Over the next decade, Day and I took every chance we could to take dive vacations with friends, and we dove a lot. Destinations included:
Belize, Roatan, Utila, Cayman Brac, and of course, Bonaire at least seven times.

Scotland
Somewhere in all that diving with friends, Day and I managed to find time to get married, build a brand new house, and finally take a vacation that had nothing to do with diving. We went to Scotland with our friends, Kirsten and J.

Boating
Over the years our interests have changed, we still enjoy diving, but boating more. Our friend bought a nice boat, so every August we spend a week on his boat, in search of adventure. And, we have found some in:
Newport, the Cape, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, Salem Mass, Long Island, NYC and Boston, to name a few.

When we want to go further, in search of adventure, bareboating. This when you rent a boat, and you are the captain and crew. We have now done this five times, the first to the,
Florida Keys, the British Virgin Islands, three times, and the Bahamas.

Cruising
We have taken two cruises, one for our wedding reception and another on our own. They were the typical cruises, visiting:
Jamaica, Grand Caymon, Key West, and one other I can't seem to remember.

Long weekends
A long weekend is a great way to travel, and we are getting pretty good at it.
Nova Scotia with Steve and Anna
The White Mountains for a romantic getaway
Martha's Vineyard for another romantic getaway
Iceland who goes to Iceland for a weekend? We do, with Kirsten and J.

Key Largo Florida countless times with Project Deep

San Francisco now that Kirsten and J have moved there.

The Tuscany region of Italy including Rome, Florence, Venice, Bassano Del Grappa, and Milan. This is the combination of two trips, the first being with Sue and David, and the second with Kirsten and J.

Lisbon, Portugal including Sintra with Kirsten and J.

The Grand Caymon
Dec. 2015 with Sue and David.

Ireland
April 2016 with Kirsten and J.

Prague, Czech Republic
April 2016 just Day and I.

I am sure I forgot something, like I said, we have traveled a lot. We are looking forward to upcoming trip this year, the August boat trip is around the corner, the Grand Canyon in December and Prague in April.
